John just rolls his eyes at Sherlock's indifference and continues pecking at his keyboard, checking his screen often for spelling errors. This continues for a few more minutes before Sherlock snaps at him, surprising John into staring up at him, wide-eyed. Had he done something wrong, or was Sherlock just in a Mood? Given how long he'd been without a case, John was almost willing to put money on the latter. No matter, the letter writing had to be done, and Sherlock sure as hell wasn't about to do it.
"Yes. These people took the time to write you, so the very least they deserve is a canned response in return." What had been that shortcut he'd been taught to copy things? Oh well, it doesn't matter. The reply didn't take that long to write, so he'd just write up another one to the other applicant, which he was about to start when he'd noticed another e-mail in his inbox.
"Oh... here's a new one. It's a nurse.. Priscilla Trevelyan. Says her patient at the mental hospital has become excessively paranoid of late. Thinks someone's out to assassinate him. She's attached a few articles about mental wards having some suspicious suicides the last few months." He looks up to see if Sherlock is even the slightest bit interested. "She also makes note that paranoia is a new symptom completely independent of what he was admitted with. Is it worth a look?"
