His hair's still a touch damp from his shower. He's distantly aware that John's not been responding to his occasional comments, to his questions. It's a bit annoying, really. Still, not so bothersome that he'd actually moved. Then he did, up and pacing, so wrapped up in his own mind that he completely missed the fact that John returned, that he'd ever been gone at all. It doesn't register even remotely until nearly an hour later, when he's paused in his track around the flat and staring out the window. Out at London.

At least, that's how he seems to interpret it, given his tone of voice when he speaks. It's a very calculated and deliberate, "No. I refuse to dignify stupidity with an answer."
